We produced several segments for the monthly news magazine sponsored by the local chapter of the Sierra Club. Topics focused on issues that affected the lives of people living in Texas and the nation.
For each of these investigative news stories, we researched, wrote, and created the video segments. Each one was between 5 and 10 minutes long:
Drink the Water, But Don't Eat the Fish - investigated the drinking water filtration process and explored the levels of PCBs found in the fish that live in our local reservoir (Lake Ladybird).
Toxic Texas - described Texas' status as one of the worst environments based on studies of water, air and soil quality. We also mapped the many SuperFund sites in the state and introduced each one.
SARA Title 3 - explained how this federal regulation can be used to protect your community against local polluters.
Balcones Canyonlands Habitat Plan - outlined the plan where developers, environmentalists, and local governments found a compromise that would allow development and preserve the natural heritage of Central Texas.
